Changes To Payment & Dashboard Logins

Hey Authy Customers,

As you know, in February of this year Authy was officially acquired by Twilio to help bring security to every corner of the internet. With Twilio’s goal of allowing developers to build more with less code, our full service two-factor authentication and phone verification API is the perfect addition to the Twilio product line.

Over the past few months, we have started to roll some of the legacy Authy systems into Twilio as we closely integrate our two companies. For developers, this has meant changing how you access your Authy Dashboard and the way you are billed for your Authy service.

We wanted to document these changes in one central location to help answer some of your common questions. Of course, feel free to reach out to [email protected] if there are additional questions or concerns you have about your Authy account.

Accessing the Authy Dashboard

We are now requiring all Authy customers to have Twilio accounts in order to access the Authy dashboard.

  • If you have already connected your Authy account to Twilio, you will simply login with your Twilio credentials here: https://dashboard.authy.com/signin
  • If you have not yet connected to a Twilio account, you will be led through the Twilio connect process next time you login with your Authy credentials.

New Authy Pricing

We have clarified our pricing model, moving to a simpler and less expensive system. It eliminates per user charges, provides a free-tier and offers lower SMS and voice prices based on the destination.

Full details on Authy pricing are available here, and feel free to contact our sales team with any questions you may have: https://www.authy.com/contact-sales/

Payment via Twilio Billing

Coupled with the required Twilio login, all payment for Authy services is now handled through the Twilio billing system. It is important to understand that Twilio billing operates differently from the way Authy billing worked in the past.

With Twilio, you are required to fund and maintain a balance in your Twilio account that is drawn down by use (authentications and SMS/Phone costs). To prevent a service interruption when your account reaches $0.00, Twilio provides settings to automatically replenish your account to ensure there’s always a sufficient balance. You can pay with any major credit card.
